Kazinga Channel
Kazinga Channel is located in the western part of Uganda and known for amazing Boat Cruises as travelers get a chance to watch many wildlife animals breaking their thirst. The Kazinga Channel comprises of dense populations of animals and bird species that are watched here (waterway between Lake Edward and Lake George).
The Kazinga Channel is permanent water source for wildlife supporting aquatic and semi-aquatic species that inhabit the green vegetation habitat. The Kazinga Channel sustains the surrounding grasslands and wetlands attracting many animals throughout the year especially during the dry season when water becomes scarce.
Wildlife animals watched along the Kazinga Channel include; Hippopotamuses (Hippos) beneath the waters, Nile Crocodiles, Elephants, Buffaloes, Uganda kobs, Waterbuck, Warthogs etc.
Bird species to watch at the Kazinga Channel are the African fish eagle, Pelicans, Cormorants, Kingfishers, Saddle-billed stork, etc
Boat Safaris
Boat cruises are the major safari adventure done at the Kazinga Channel as they offer you close-up views of animals at the water’s edge, safe observation of hippos and crocodiles, excellent photography opportunities.
The Boat Cruises take a period of 2–3 hours in sessions i.e Morning and afternoon. These are guided by experienced rangers with travelers watching hundreds of hippos, elephants drinking at the shoreline and birds flying overhead or perched along banks.
